“I used to think that discussing SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights) was taboo. Now, I want to ensure my friends get accurate information and the protection they deserve. If we don’t speak up, who will?” — Qomar, member of CIKAL, Langkat, North Sumatra.
With the support of the Power to You(th) (PtY) and Right Here Right Now 2 (RHRN2) programs, we place young people at the heart of social change. Across various regions, we safeguard and nurture youth-led spaces, such as:
CIKAL in Langkat;
The Village Children’s Forum (FAD) in Lombok, Jember, and Bondowoso;
The Village Youth Communication Forum (FKRD) in Garut;
The Youth Cadres of the Community Service Center (PLK) in Indramayu.
They are now active in their environments, promoting SRHR, preventing SGBV, supporting Youth Integrated Health Centers (Posyandu Remaja/Posrem), and acting as vital bridges between teenagers and community leaders.

They are also frequently involved in the Development Planning Deliberations (Musrenbang), including managing village funds allocated for their specific activities.
“When young people are given the space and the budget, they can deliver real change.” — Suwanto, Head of Tugu Village, Langkat, North Sumatra.
Within school environments, we also encourage the formation of Peer Educators (PE) through Comprehensive Sexuality Education (PKRS). The presence of Peer Educators not only creates a more open and inclusive school ecosystem but also boosts students’ self-confidence and their courage to report cases of bullying and other forms of violence at school.
“I used to be incredibly shy; I never spoke up. But because of PKRS, I’ve come to understand my body, understand my emotions, and I’ve started to feel confident. Now, I can stand in front of my friends and speak out.” — Maulidha, student at SMPN 1 Sindang, Indramayu, West Java.
